World Pillow Fight Day

PF1

World Pillow Fight Day was on the 4th of April. A Saturday. I found out about this event via Facebook and twitter. How else do you find out about these random happenings of joy? And to my delight I found out that a pillow fight had been organised in Perth.

Then came the dilemma. Do I take a pillow or do I take a camera. The camera won out, but only just. So I headed in to meet up with a few friends and also to grab some lunch. There was a worrying point when I came across more photographers than pillow fighters. Had I made the wrong choice? I started to think that perhaps it would be better to run into a shop to buy a pillow just to add to the pillow fighter numbers.

While chatting to a couple of photographer, (girls if you want to meet guys, take up photography!), I didn’t notice the pillow fighter numbers swell. And before long it began.

Two divisions were formed and on command charged at each other with battle cries and pillows raised. It was a flurry of pillows. There were no qualms about guys hitting girls. It was every person for themselves. There were even child combatants who performed better than many of their older and wiser compatriots.

As soon as it started, it was over.

See you next year.
