A forgotten mill ball left to rust, not that the rusting process would have been slow given the environment that it is in.

A mill ball is essentially a steel ball of a particular size used in a mill to grind the ore to a designated size. They’re often made of steel as stainless steel mill balls cost more and it is debatable as to how much benefit steel mill balls provide to processing.

One Candle

I’m not sure what it is about a lit candle that can have me mesmerised for hours. I marvel at how light is cast. Yet at the same time, the behaviour of the wax melting, solidifying and evaporating with the release of a scent brings out the scientist in me.

Whatever it is, I know I like candles.

More commonly known as potassium chloride.

It’s not often that one sees a salt as crystalline cubes.
